Zenon Dance Zone

Zenon Dance Zone is an intensive study & performance program that offers adult students the opportunity to study with first-rate instructors, work with area choreographers, and perform in a studio concert at the end of the session. Students are chosen by audition and their tuition is subsidized by partial scholarship. Students must take a minimum of four classes per week. The program is divided into two tiers:

The Technique Level is a comprehensive program that provides students the opportunity to enhance their creative and technical skills and explore new dance styles. Technique Level dancers may take unlimited adult classes during the session, with a minimum requirement of four classes each week.

The Performance Level is a student performing group formed from a select group of the more advanced students. These dancers have achieved a strong intermediate or advanced level of dance technique. Performance Level dancers will have the opportunity to work with area choreographers and perform in an end-of-session Student Showcase. Performance Level dancers are required to dance in at least one repertory piece and attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances.  Performance Level dancers may take unlimited adult classes during the session, with a minimum requirement of four classes each week.

There are three opportunities each year to participate in the program: Fall Session (14-week program), Winter/Spring Session (20-week program), and Summer Session (12-week program).  Before each session there is an audition at Zenon’s studios, conducted in a class format.  Dancers do not need to pre-register or bring a resume.  Dancers from all technique backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

If you are accepted into either program you must sign both a program and payment contract. Payments for the program must either be made in full at the beginning of the session or scheduled through a payment plan. After you have turned in your contracts, you will be issued a class card to take unlimited adult classes at Zenon during the current session.  A limited number of Work Study positions are available to help pay tuition.
