Summer Adult Tap
June 6 - August 28

Beginning 1
Day/Time:  Saturday 11:30-12:30 pm  
Instructor:  Stephanie Harmon  

This class is for students with little or no tap experience.  Using warm-ups, movement across the floor and short combinations, students will learn how to use their shoes to create a variety of different sounds, how to count music, and the basic movements that are the building blocks of the dance form. Tap is a good aerobic work-out, and students will find that it is a form of dance that will allow them to have a good time and feel accomplishment from the very first class.

 

Beginning 2
Day/Time:  Monday 6:00-7:00 pm  
Instructor:  Stephanie Harmon  

This class is open to students who have taken beginning tap, or who have at least basic tap experience.  Using the same class format as beginning, Advanced Beginning takes basic movements and sounds and begins to combine them to create more complex rhythms.  Students will learn time steps, basic riffs, pullbacks and more. Tap is a good aerobic work-out, and students will find that it is a form of dance that will allow them to have a good time and feel accomplishment from the very first class.

Intermediate 1
Day/Time:  Monday    5:00-6:00 pm  
Instructor:  Stephanie Harmon  

This class works at a faster pace, and with a wider range of rhythms and musical styles.  Students will work with adding extra sounds into basic steps, learn to feel and count different time signatures, learn more complicated versions of time steps and riffs, and learn about tap as a performance medium.
