Advanced Beginning Afro Modern
Day/Time: Sundays  5:00-6:30 pm
Instructor: Debra McGee
Cost: $120
This class fuses aspects of African and Afro-Caribbean dance with Modern dance.  The full warm up begins center, then follows with combinations center and across the floor.  The class focuses on the fusion of African movements with Modern dance and the ability to maintain technique/structure while executing each step.  The importance of strengthening and stretching the appropriate muscles is a staple of this movement.  The use of different rhythms, accents, and dynamics are pertinent while maintaining a grounded and centered base.  This class also entails floor work and basic partnering.  Some dance experience recommended.
