Interdisciplinary Camp | July 25-29

Ages 6-10

Perfect for students new to dance or with many interests!  This camp introduces students to 4 different types of dance: Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern and Ballet!  Each day includes 2 different technique classes plus a choreography class.  Campers will work to create a dance that will be performed on the last day of camp.

Hip Hop and Breakdance Camp | August 1-5
Camp will be held at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center

Perfect for high-energy movers- no dance experience necessary!  Learn all four areas of hip hop: popping, locking, top rocking and breaking!  Students will also learn about the history and current cultural relevance of this dance form.  Each day includes 2 different technique classes plus a choreography class.  Campers will work to create a dance that will be performed on the last day of camp.  Please call the office at 612-338-1101 to enroll by Wednesday, July 27.

High School Intensive | August 15-19

Perfect for intermediate/advanced level high school students who want to improve their training!  Each day includes 2 technique classes, rotating between Modern, Jazz and Hip Hop.  Students will also work with a Zenon Dance Company member to create a dance that will be performed on Friday in the Zenon Dance Zone Summer Showcase.

Make it a full-day camp and save!  Students ages 14-18 may also enroll in The Cowles Center “Journey Through Dance” for $100 from 9:30-11:30 am in the same building.  Save $10 off each enrollment!  For registration and additional information please call The Cowles Center at (612) 465-0220.

Culture Camp | August 15-19

9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Explore an array of arts with one day at each cultural organization: Children’s Theatre Company, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Minnesota Center for Book Arts and Zenon Dance School. Campers will perform and display their art at 2:45 each day for family and friends.

Save $25 off Culture Camp enrollment when you also enroll in Zenon’s Interdisciplinary or Hip Hop camp!  Use your camp dates as your Zenon Membership number.

At Zenon, company members will draw on their outreach program curriculum to teach creative movement, jazz, modern, yoga and hip hop to campers, then guide them in creating a dance of their own. While at Children's Theater Company students will explore the world of storytelling in this fun Create-a-Play-Day.  At Highpoint students will dive into the world of printmaking and create a portfolio of works.  Students at Hearth of the Beast will create their own puppets and masks with a wide variety of materials and inspirations.  At Minnesota Center for Book Arts they will experience the joy of hand-made bookmaking, printmaking and paper making.

Adult Jazz Intensive|August 1-5

Zenon will be co-sponsoring a Jazz Intensive summer workshop with a track for professional and pre-professional dancers and a track for dance educators. Contact the office for additional information.
