Deaf & Hard of Hearing Initiative

"I know the power of this art form, the ability of Deaf and Hard of Hearing to laugh, scream, and cry with their bodies!" —Linda Andrews

Zenon Dance is peerless in its work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Artistic Director Linda Andrews has conducted dozens of residencies that culminate in performances with schools serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.

Expanding Work to Include Adult Audiences

Now, a special grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board is making it possible for the company to expand its connections with adult Deaf/Hard of Hearing audiences. This past fall, the company hosted a special welcome event at an ASL-interpreted event, complete with social hour, dance piece introductions and a post-concert question and answer session with the dancers.

Zenon will repeat that successful event with a special performance on Sunday, May 6, at 7 pm at the beautiful new Cowles Center in downtown Minneapolis. Deaf/Hard of Hearing patrons receive half-price tickets (just $15) to the ASL-interpreted concert. A Q&A with the dancers and happy hour follow the concert! Click here to buy tickets and use the code "zenonasl" when ordering.

Zenon Seeks Ambassadors in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community

Zenon is offering a $100 stipend plus a free ticket to the spring 2012 concert for ambassadors who are interested in working with the company on its Deaf/Hard of Hearing initiative. Read the ambassador description here.
