Winter classes are now in session. Drop-in students are welcome in all classes.
Performance Skills - NEW CLASS!
The participants of this course will develop a set of skills that will allow them to better convey their intentions when on stage. The class will use various exercises based on the individual needs of the participants. Some of these techniques include emotional and sense memory practices, physical exercises to increase body awareness, and vocal exercises focusing on articulation, projection, and creative expression. The class will apply their acquired skills in improvisation and pantomime in performances of brief dance pieces.
Day/Time: Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 pm Instructor: April Sellers This class will be taught by a new teacher each session - learn new skills to bring your performance energy and techniques to the next level!
Learn choreograhic skills from a Sage-award-winning professional choreographer. Students may be eligible to show their works in the Zenon Dance Zone Showcase performances.
Contact Improvisation
Partnering Techniques - NEW CLASS! This class will teach ways to move together, share weight, lift and fall. This skill is critical for modern dancers who wish to improve their technique and performance skills. Beginners welcome!
Open Level CI - NEW CLASS! This hour long class will focus on different ways to create improvisations, working from scores, motifs and explorations. Beginners welcome!
These two Monday Contact Improvisation classes (Partnering Techniques & Open Level) may be taken separately or students may pay the 2 hr class rate and take them both.
